3D Scanning and Scan-to-CAD Support

When a physical component exists but reliable drawings do not, 3D scanning can capture its shape and dimensions as a digital reference. Pharos Steel Works uses a Creality Raptor Pro scanner together with CAD workflows in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Capture existing components

Scanning creates a digital representation of the physical part that can be reviewed for geometry, dimensions and areas that need closer inspection.

Reverse engineering for reproduction or modification

The scan can be used as a reference when rebuilding suitable geometry in CAD, creating fabrication information or modifying an existing component for a new requirement.

What scanner do you use?

We use the Creality Raptor Pro for 3D scanning work and process the project through our digital workflow as required.

Can you turn a scan into a CAD model?

For suitable projects, scan data can be used as a reference for reverse engineering and CAD reconstruction in workflows that include SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Can you provide a 3D scan report?

Yes. Reporting can be discussed based on the project requirement, including the scan scope, screenshots, dimensional observations and comparison information where applicable.
